This recipe comes from the esteeméd Charles H. Baker, Jr., whose excellent Exotic Drinks Book kept me well-versed in mixology through my college years. It’s a superb warm-weather drink. The nutmeg makes it taste something like a summer egg nog.
Work honey and water together until thoroughly dissolved, then shake with cracked ice and rum until very cold indeed. Strain into a large cocktail glass and dust heavily with fresh grated nutmeg.
