S.M. Hutchens writes brilliantly about the sexualisation
of Protestant Christianity. I remember once being in a Southern
Baptist meeting in which a hymn was sung whose words were, Oh yes,
Lord, yes, yes, Lord, Oh yes!
I don’t believe that I need to
note whence exactly those pseudo-lyrics seem to have sprung.
